Viewpoint Grows Into New Facilities
March 5, 2015
Coralville, Iowa – Following successful early stage incubation in facilities in Texas, Viewpoint has selected the University of Iowa BioVentures Center to locate laboratory operations to allow the company to grow locally in Iowa. “Viewpoint is rooted in Iowa and the BioVentures Center is a facility that is designed specifically in form and function for early stage biotechnology companies to incubate. We are excited about the next phase in our development.” says Viewpoint Chief Medical Officer and co-founder Frances Johnson MD. The University of Iowa BioVentures Center provides incubator laboratory space to early stage companies and offers shared resources that help to reduce costs and improve the competitive position of companies that are entering the commercialization phase of development, but are looking to focus investment in technology development. “Our growth projections over the next three years are clearly telling us that the time is now to move into our own laboratory facilities to be most productive.”says Viewpoint Chief Science Officer and co-founer Michael Schultz PhD.
The new facilities are located at 2500 Crosspark Blvd in Coralville, Iowa – approximately 10 miles from the main University Iowa College of Medicine facilities. “We have strong ties to the University of Iowa and we anticipate the University to continue to be a strong supporter and partner as we advance to clinical trials” says Schultz. That makes investing in making a home in Iowa and excellent choice.
